Program for Hospital and Intensive Care Informatics (PHICI)
Led by the laboratory of Soojin Park, MD, the Program for Hospital and Intensive Care Informatics (PHICI) is a translational research program that provides the framework and pipeline to enable clinicians, scientists, and administrators to maximize use of monitoring device data of the heart, lungs, and brain for predictive analytics. PHICI leverages resources in the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (NYP/CUIMC) community, including the Department of Neurology and the Department of Biomedical Informatics, and NYP Data Analytics. Areas of research activity also include the Departments of Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine (pulmonary critical care, cardiology), and Pediatrics (critical care). It is expected that this new program will bring transformative insights to the bedside.
Mission. To derive actionable information from healthcare data to improve efficiency and quality of care in hospitalized or critically ill patients.
