The Danny H.-Kauffmann Jokl, MD Fellowship Fund provides enduring support for fellows in the Columbia University Department of Neurology, helping to advance the training and research of the next generation of leaders in the field.
The endowed fund supports the salary and related expenses of one or more fellows in the Department of Neurology. Fellows supported by the fund may pursue research in any area within the department, providing flexibility to invest in promising investigators and areas of scientific opportunity.

About Danny H.-Kauffmann Jokl, MD
Danny H.-Kauffmann Jokl, MD, is a retired ophthalmologist and longtime member of the Columbia University community. He joined Columbia’s ophthalmology faculty in 1998 and built a distinguished career specializing in retinal disease, combining patient care and mentorship with research into retinal vascular flow and the genetic basis of eye disease.
Neuro-ophthalmology has also been a longstanding area of interest for Dr. Jokl, dating back to his medical training. His interest in the field reflects the close relationship between ophthalmology and neurology and a commitment to advancing knowledge at the intersection of the eye and the brain. Throughout his career, he has emphasized intellectual curiosity, innovation, and the mentorship of younger physicians and scientists.
