Sarah F. Wesley, MD, MPH

Overview
I am a board-certified neurologist who specializes in inflammatory disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. I treat conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica, neurosarcoidosis, transverse myelitis, autoimmune encephalitis, and secondary neuroinflammatory reactions from other exposures.
In addition to disease prevention and treatment, I work with individuals to optimize function and quality of life using a variety of approaches, including exercise, healthy lifestyle, medication, and botulinum toxin injections for relief of muscle spasticity.
I also conduct clinical trials to find new and effective medications to treat MS and other neuroinflammatory diseases. Moreover, I conduct primary research on the causes and treatment of neuroinflammation, in particular, studying inflammatory reactions to new cancer immunotherapies.
