Externship in Clinical Neuropsychology
Our Program
The Epilepsy Division offers a 1-year externship in clinical neuropsychology, with an emphasis in epilepsy. Externs will learn to administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological test batteries in adults undergoing evaluation for intractable seizures and other neurological conditions including but not limited to: brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease, and concussion. Externs will have the opportunity to attend surgical case conferences, teaching rounds, and lectures in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center. Externs will also have the opportunity to observe Wada Procedures and intra- and extra-operative intracranial electro-cortical language mapping. Supervision is conducted by Marla Hamberger, PhD, and Jeffrey Cole, PhD, ABPP-CN.
Requirements and Eligibility
Current enrollment as a doctoral student in Psychology is required. Graduate coursework in neuropsychology and prior testing experience is strongly preferred.
