Research
Dr. Talmasov's research focuses on brain pathology that alters human behavior. In past work using lesion network mapping, he studied the disruption of behaviorally critical brain circuits in patients with mania and hallucinations following focal brain lesions. His current research program combines computational genomics and neuropathology to investigate why specific frontal cortical neurons are vulnerable to degeneration in frontotemporal dementia (FTD), both in C9orf72 mutation carriers and in sporadic FTD.
