Overview
Upon graduating with her MD from the University of Pennsylvania, Alison Pack completed residency training in Neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following Dr. Pack’s residency, she trained as a Clinical Fellow in Epilepsy at the Columbia Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. After completing fellowship she joined the faculty at Columbia University as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and became an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology in 2008. She received an MPH with a concentration in epidemiology from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in 2010.

Research
In 2001 she received the Epilepsy Foundation Junior Investigator Research Award to study bone health in postmenopausal women with epilepsy receiving antiepileptic drugs. She received an NIH K23 award to study the effects of antiepileptic drugs on bone and hormonal health. She has been a co-investigator on a number of clinical studies, including reproductive function in young women with epilepsy, contraceptive use in women with epilepsy, and neurodevelopmental effects of antiepileptic drugs. She has written numerous original publications as well as reviews on topics pertaining to women with epilepsy as well as endocrine issues in epilepsy.
She was elected vice-chair of the Neuroendocrinology section of the AAN in 2012 and previously served as Councilor from 2009- 2012. In 2012 she received the AAN Neuroendocrine Research Award. Since 2002 she has been co-director of the epilepsy fellowship program at the Columbia Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. She is currently a member of the National Professional Advisory Board of Epilepsy Foundation and she serves on the editorial board of Epilepsy Currents.
