Kristina A. Rankine, MD
Division of Critical Care and Hospitalist Neurology
Kristina A. Rankine, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Critical Care and Hospitalist Neurology at NYP/CUIMC. Dr. Rankine earned her medical degree from the Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, then completed neurology residency at Washington University School of Medicine, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. She went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the same institution. Dr. Rankine brings clinical expertise in acute neurological emergencies, stroke, epilepsy, and migraines, and a particular focus on caring for patients with sickle cell disease and other vasculopathies that elevate stroke risk.
Brian Emmert Jr., MD
Division of Epilepsy
Brian Emmert Jr., MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Epilepsy. A valedictorian graduate of Villanova University, Dr. Emmert earned his MD from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he received the Dean’s Award and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, earning the Galetta Teaching Award and a second Gold Humanism Society induction, followed by fellowships in epilepsy, intracranial EEG, and medical education. Based at the Neurological Institute, his clinical interests include drug-resistant epilepsy and medical education.

Daniel Talmasov, MD
Division of Aging and Dementia
Daniel Talmasov, MD, is an Instructor in Neurology in the Division of Aging and Dementia. Board-certified in neurology and psychiatry, Dr. Talmasov specializes in neurodegenerative diseases, with a focus on emotional and behavioral symptoms in conditions like frontotemporal dementia (FTD). He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Stony Brook University, completed psychiatry residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard, and neurology residency at NYU, where he served as chief resident. He completed fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry and an NIMH T32 research fellowship at Columbia. At the Neurological Institute, Dr. Talmasov also consults in the ALS Center and Huntington’s Disease Center of Excellence. His research, supported by an Alzheimer’s Association Clinician Scientist Fellowship, investigates vulnerable frontal neuron populations in FTD.

Sandie Worley, MD
Division of Movement Disorders
Sandie Worley, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Movement Disorders. A mechanical engineering graduate of MIT, Dr. Worley earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed her internship at Montefiore, neurology residency at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and fellowship in Movement Disorders here at Columbia. Dr. Worley brings broad clinical expertise and advanced training in therapies such as deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin injections and sees patients at the Neurological Institute of New York location at 710 West 168th Street on the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus.
