Dr. Yalda Moayedi-Esfahani

Please join in welcoming Dr. Yalda Moayedi as an assistant professor of neurological sciences (in Neurology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery), and associate director of the Thompson Family Foundation Preclinical Models Core in Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy and Sensory Neuroscience at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Moayedi received her BS in Neurobiology from University of Texas in Austin and her PhD in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine, in the labs of Drs. Graeme Mardon and Andrew Groves. She completed her postdoctoral training at Columbia with Dr. Ellen Lumpkin. Dr. Moayedi’s main research interest is the neural basis of somatosensation, with a focus on cells and circuits that underlie oral and upper airway mechanosensation.
