The Department of Neurology is proud to share that FIVE members of the Neurology community were selected by the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) Class of 2027 for distinguished awards this year! 

Molly Charney, MD (Adult Neurology PGY-3) and Justin Esposito, MD (Adult Neurology PGY-3) were selected for the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award for Residents

Chelsea Lopez, RN (Neuro-Oncology) received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Outstanding Humanism in Patient Care Award for Non-Physician Practitioners

Michelle Corkrum, MD, PhD (Child Neurology PGY-5) was awarded the Outstanding Clinical Learning Environment Award for Residents

Brian Emmert, MD (Epilepsy faculty) was honored with the Outstanding Clinical Learning Environment Award for Faculty

Each of these awardees was recognized at the Steven Z. Miller Student Clinician Ceremony on Monday, January 5, 2026, in the Vagelos Educational Center. The faculty and staff of the Department of Neurology congratulate these well-deserved honorees and thank them for their outstanding contributions to our department and the VP&S community.
