Columbia Alzheimer’s Researchers Featured on ABC7

Drs. Scott Small and Yasir Qureshi were recently featured in an ABC7 Eyewitness News segment highlighting their research into the earliest cellular changes associated with Alzheimer’s disease and efforts to translate these discoveries into new therapeutic approaches. The segment was reported by longtime WABC-TV anchor Bill Ritter, who recently shared his own early-stage Alzheimer’s diagnosis and, in response to considerable interest from viewers, visited Columbia to learn more about ongoing research into the disease. 

The conversation will continue on September 30, when Dr. Small—director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Columbia—joins Ritter, actor and Alzheimer’s advocate David Hyde Pierce, and author and journalist Allison Gilbert at the 92nd Street Y for Alzheimer’s, Caregiving, and the Power of Community, a discussion about Alzheimer’s research, caregiving, and the importance of community and support.
