  • Access to Care Orientation

    This is a monthly workshop for caregivers and patients across the Department of Neurology to understand how to access important “concrete” services that you or your loved ones may need throughout their treatment journey. We will discuss important topics such as transportation, disability, enrolling in Medicaid, advance care planning, as well as managing the emotional burden of caregiving. This monthly workshop is facilitated by a licensed social worker who specializes in neurology. This meeting occurs via Zoom (https://columbiacuimc.zoom.us/j/94003390729) on the second Wednesday of each month, from 1-2 pm. 

  • ADRC and Arts & Minds Program Free Art Workshop Series

    The Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) Outreach Recruitment and Engagement (ORE) Core at the Columbia Irving Medical Center, in collaboration with Arts & Minds, will continue to offer its series of art workshops in The Heights. This program is designed for people with memory loss and their caregivers. We are excited to offer this English/Spanish bilingual program to our community members. Our program is offered on Thursdays, starting on Thursday, September 11, and will run until December 18, 2025.  All the materials and snacks are provided for the participants, and the workshops are offered free of cost.  New Participants can register using these links:  Registration form, English  Registration form, Spanish

  • Stroke Warriors Group for stroke survivors, caregivers, and families

    Caitlin McCarthy, LMSW, will present on the topic of Community Resources. This is a forum for stroke survivors, caregivers, and families to share experiences and insights, as well as to receive guidance from experts on navigating stroke risk and recovery challenges. The group is led by multidisciplinary clinicians and administrators committed to supporting all those affected by a stroke.
