Research

Jesus D. Villamizar, MD is an assistant professor of neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Division of Child Neurology. Dr. Villamizar has worked in the past on screening for psychiatric co-morbidities in epilepsy patients as well as initial management of a first afebrile seizure in the pediatric patient at UPMC Children’s Hospital. Dr. Villamizar plans to continue looking more at advancements in epilepsy surgery, including implementing the use of RNS and DBS in pediatric patients.
