2025 Rudel Prize for Neuropsychology Research Awarded to Dr. Jeroen van Baar
Congratulations to Dr. Jeroen van Baar, this year’s recipient of the Rudel Prize for Neuropsychology Research. Supported by the Rita G. Rudel Foundation, this $10,000 award recognizes early-career investigators in human neuropsychology or cognitive research and helps them collect pilot data for future studies. Dr. van Baar’s project, “Studying the effect of eviction bans on adolescent neurodevelopment,” reflects Dr. Rudel’s lasting legacy in developmental neuropsychology. Dr. van Baar is a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, where he combines neuroscience and epidemiology to explore how public policy impacts brain development and mental health. The prize was presented at the 36th Annual Rita G. Rudel—Lucy G. Moses Lecture, marking the 40th anniversary of Dr. Rudel’s passing, with members of the Rudel family in attendance. Congratulations to Dr. van Baar on this well-deserved honor.
