Research

Since the beginning of his Neurology training, Luis Alcala has been involved in clinical research regarding epilepsy surgery. He has focused on invasive neuromodulation outcomes in treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy cases not amenable to resections, outcomes of resective epilepsy surgery, and access to epilepsy surgery from a systems based point of view. His current research involves leveraging mixed methods to better understand access to epilepsy surgery and potential interventions to improve it.
