Robert J. Wechsler-Reya, PhD

We are pleased to welcome Robert J. Wechsler-Reya, PhD, Professor of Neurological Sciences (in Neurology and in the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center), to the Division of Neuro-Oncology. Dr. Wechsler-Reya graduated from Harvard College, received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Wistar Institute and Stanford University. Dr. Wechsler-Reya’s research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with medulloblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor in children. His current areas of interest include discovering oncogenic drivers and creating new models, elucidating the molecular mechanisms of metastasis, harnessing the immune system to target tumors, identifying new therapeutics, and exploring novel approaches to drug delivery. Dr. Wechsler-Reya will serve as Scientific Director, Brain Tumor Research in the HICCC.
