Dr. Williams received the 2023 ACTS Addressing Health Equity Through Partnership and Innovation Award for his robust and transformative work in community-engaged research and programs at CUIMC. He has been recognized for his work with Community Health Workers (CHW) in both clinical and research settings at Columbia. In the past six years Dr. Williams has grown his vision for an expanded CHW training program at Columbia from a single cohort in 2016 to two separate training institutes with a myriad of funding and partners across CUIMC, the NewYork-Presbyterian enterprise, New York City, and beyond. The program currently has a footprint in all five boroughs of New York City, fourteen new community-based partnerships and three additional faith-based partner groups.
