The Movement Disorders team hosts a variety of educational and supportive programming for patients, families, and the community. Open to those who are looking for more information about DBS surgery for Parkinson’s disease, Tremor, or Dystonia. Presentation will include overview of symptoms necessitating referral to DBS and DBS surgery process. We will also have Q&A with neurosurgery, neurologists, and patients who have undergone DBS surgery.

This is a monthly workshop for caregivers across the Department of Neurology to understand how to access important “concrete” services that your loved ones may need throughout their treatment journey. We will discuss important topics such as transportation, disability, enrolling in Medicaid, advance care planning, as well as managing the emotional burden of caregiving.
Facilitated by a licensed social worker who specializes in neurology.This meeting occurs via Zoom on the second Wednesday of each month, from 1-2pm. Registration is not required.

This is a monthly, online support group for those who have lost someone to brain cancer or another progressive neurological illness.Your loved one must have received treatment at Columbia in order to join this group. Participants are welcome to join 3 months after the death of their loved one and are invited to attend 13 sessions thereafter. This group occurs on the last Monday of each month.
Registration is required. To register, click here. After completing the registration form, a social worker will be in touch with you to complete the registration process. You will then receive a Zoom link for the next upcoming session.

Welcome to the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center's inaugural CP Community Day! It will be a fun-filled day with opportunities to build community and share resources.
Connect with community partners, meet our team and as well other families while enjoying food and activities for the entire family. There will be wellness, creative and sports activities for all ages.
CP Community Day will be held at Haven Plaza, a beautiful accessible outdoor space on the Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus. Check on our website for updates on activities and exhibitors.
This event is free for participants and exhibiting partners.
We are offering display booths for our community partners who have resources and activities to share. Booths are open for creative, wellness, adaptive sports, equipment & devices, and other resources which supports the CP community.
